An American Yoga instructor has had enough.
In the midst of a sex scandal, Borat is reportedly being driven by his sex drive to an office with the most drugs in the city.
Borat’s antics and lifestyle have sparked a heated debate in the yoga community about whether the practice is inherently sexual, or if it is just part of the culture.
(The Washington Post) Borat Driving Instructor: ‘Sexually Expensive to Work Out’ The yoga instructor’s driving instructor says Borat was a bad fit for his position, but Borat isn’t the only one who’s had enough of his sex-and-drugs antics.
The driving instructor has also come out in support of Borat.
“We have a culture of sexual excess, which is a very serious issue, and the driving instructor can be part of that,” says the instructor, who asked to remain anonymous because of the sensitivity of the situation.
“Borath is a good example of a practicing, committed person who wants to be a good teacher and a good husband.”
The driving instructors concerns have prompted several comments from members of the yoga world, including a group called the Yoga Ethics Society, which says it has not endorsed Borat and that the driving instructors position is “not only inappropriate but wrong and unprofessional.”
“It is important to understand that it is not our job to judge someone’s ability to practice yoga,” the yoga ethics society wrote in a statement to National Geographic.
“We just ask people to respect the teacher’s right to be free from sexual activity and to engage in a healthy relationship with their partner.”
Borati has not responded to a request for comment.
The Washington yoga community, however, is not ready to let Borat go.
“It’s about the yoga and the community and it’s about how we are all connected and connected to each other and to society,” says Susan Sabin, the founder of the community-based group Washington Yoga Alliance.
“It’s not about sex.
That’s not our focus.
It’s about who we are and how we live our lives.
That is the focus.”
The yoga world is divided on the issue, but Sabin says she believes Borat has become the “most popular” instructor.
“He’s a very popular instructor,” Sabin tells National Geographic, “and he’s very popular in our community.”
Sabin says Borati has been the driving force behind the community’s efforts to change the culture of yoga.
“Borats mission has been to bring a yoga practice to a place where it’s not a place of shame and where it can be healthy and fun,” Sampen says.
“And I think that has been really important to our community.
And I think there’s a lot of people in the community who are really upset that he’s just not living up to the mission of yoga.”
